The Pagan Quraish Mak'kah (Mak'kah) rejochied at the overthrow of Rome by Persia. They were pro-persians, and in their heart of hearts of they hoped that the nascent movement of Islam, Which at that time was, from a wordly point of view, very weak and helpless, would also collapse under their perseution. But they misread the true sign of the times. They are here that they would soon be disillusioned in both their calculations, and it actually so happened at the battle of issue in 622 (the year of hijrat) and in 624, when Heracilus carried his campaign in to heart of Persia and Mak'kahn (Mak'kabn) Quraish Were beaten off at Badr.
The Battle of Badr (2 A.H = 624 A.D.) was a real time of rejoicing for the Believers and a time of disillusionment for the arrogant Quraish, who thought that they could crush the whole movement of Islam in Madina as they had tried to do in Mak'kah (Makkah), but they were signally repulsed.
The Holy Qur'an mentions this event as under:
الٓمٓ. {1} غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ. {2} فِىٓ أَدْنَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ. {3} فِى بِضْعِ سِنِينَ ۗ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ مِن قَبْلُ وَمِنۢ بَعْدُ ۚ وَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَفْرَحُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ. }4} بِنَصْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ {5}
"Alif Lam mim. The Roman Empire has been defeated in a neighbouring land. But after their defeat they shall themselves gain victory within a few years. Allah's is the command before and after. On that day believers will rejoice in Allah's help. He gives victory to whom He will. He is the Mighty one, the Merciful." (Quran 30:1-5).
The Qur'an clearly predicts that the Romans will soon be victorious. The Persians will be defeated. Alhamdulillah so it happened. This prophecy of the Qur'an is proved true and it also proves that the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is the true prophet sent by Allah.
