Celebrated Christmas according to Quran and Bible??
Author :- Rahul Hossain-Ruhul Amin
The christians of the whole world celebrate December 25 as the birthday or Christmas of Jesus Christ, but no one knows exactly when Jesus Christ was born. There is even no mention of it anywhere in the Bible. No mention. Then why is December 25 celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ?
Evidence from the Bible:
Luke 2:5-8
New International Version(NIV)
5. He (Joseph) went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
6. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,
7. and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
Note:
1) She wrapped the newborn baby with a piece of cloth and laid it in a manger(feeding trough).
2) The shepherds were guarding their flocks in the field at night.
If we assume that Jesus was born on December 25 ,we know that December is a very cold month. And especially in Bethlehem this time is up to the snow.
Note :-1)
We can know from the Bible, when Jesus was born,at that time Maryam (pbuh) was looking for a place to stay by putting her baby in a manger.Think! how a mother would leave her newborn child in the cold! Is it possible in such a deep night!? Yes, but if the time is summer then it isn't impossible. This is what the Bible proves, Jesus was never born in the winter, or December 25. Rather born during the summer.
Note :-2)
We can also know from the Bible, when Jesus was born,Sheep herdsmen were watching over their sheep in a field at night.Think about it, is it possible for a shepherd to guard his sheep in such a cold night? Yes, but if the time is summer then it isn't impossible. This is what the Bible proves,Jesus was never born in the winter, on December 25.Rather born during the summer.
Evidence from the Qur'an :
This is how the Qur'an describes the birth of Jesus
وَهُزِّى ِٓلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا
“And (O Maryam!) shake the trunk of the palm trees towards yourself. You will see that the trees will continue to throw fresh ripe dates at you. ”
Note:
Another thing to note here is that Maryam(pbuh) was told to shake the trunk of the palm trees so that the ripe dates would be fallen to the bottom. That means it was the date ripening season which is summer. But Christians celebrate the so-called birthday of Jesus Christ, or X-mas Day in their language, on December 25 in winter!
It's a pagan ritual to celebrate a birthday by dancing and making noise.
Evidence from the Bible:
But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. (Gospel of Matthew 14: 6)
And when a convenient day came, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee; (Gospel of Mark 6:21)
The christians of the whole world celebrate December 25 as the birthday or Christmas of Jesus Christ, but no one knows exactly when Jesus Christ was born. Even nowhere in the Bible is there any mention of it.No mention. Then why is December 25 celebrated as the birthday of Jesus Christ?
How or why this date?
The birth of Jesus Christ began on December 25, 336 AD, in Rome. Then in 350 AD, Pope Julius officially declared this day as the birthday of Jesus Christ. Since then, this day has been celebrated as Christmas Day.
But there was a lot of history and controversy behind it.
The first question is, what is the year of Christ's birth? The reckoning of the year began after the birth of the generally known Christ. That is,he was born 2020 years ago.But the calculation was not so straightforward then.
Until the third century after the birth of Jesus Christ, only the day of his death was observed. According to the Encyclopedia Americana, the Fathers of the Church at that time did not observe the birthday of Jesus from the first century. Because, at that time, it was customary to celebrate the death anniversaries of memorable people.
In 525, the first Pope, John Dionysius, created a calendar for the Ixigas churches. It states that Jesus Christ was born about 753 years after the founding of Rome. However, this information is incorrect.Because the Gospel records show that Jesus was born during the reign of Herod the Great. As a result, it could never be 753 years after the rise of Rome. Because, Herod died in 4 BC.
Now, let's analyze the issue of December 25. History and the Bible themselves are giving information against December 25.Experts believe that if Jesus was born at this date, the ancient people would have mentioned his birth in the Bible. But, it did not happen. There is no mention of his birthday in at least the first 200 years of Christian history.
Not only that, Jesus' birthday was not celebrated until 336 BCE.
